What we commission

A proposal on the beach at sunset, the engagement ring held up to the camera

01

Engagement rings

Most commissions begin here. Joshua starts with the person who will wear the ring: how they dress, what they do with their hands, what they already own, and what they would never choose for themselves.

The stone is sourced to that brief, viewed in person, and the design is drawn around it.

02

Wedding bands

Made to sit with the engagement ring rather than beside it, with the profile, width and setting worked out against the ring itself.

03

Fine jewellery

Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and pendants, commissioned for a particular person and occasion. Often the pieces that become the ones a family keeps.

04

Significant diamonds

For clients seeking a particular stone, whether a size, a cut or a rarity, Joshua sources through the trade network he built in the wholesale industry, and advises on what the certificate does and does not tell you.

05

Anniversary jewellery

A piece to mark a year, a decade or a life together. Designed with the same care as the first ring, and often with a story folded into it.

06

Heirloom pieces

Jewellery intended to be passed on. Built to be worn daily for decades, with stones and settings chosen to outlast fashion.

How it works

Five stages,one conversation.

The same unhurried path for a wedding band or a significant stone. Most of it happens in conversation.

  1. 01

    Consultation

Understand the occasion, wearer, style, preferences and budget.

A private conversation, in person or by phone, with no obligation and nothing to buy.

  2. 02

    Stone Selection

Joshua sources a carefully selected shortlist of diamonds or gemstones.

Stones are viewed loose, in daylight and under grading light, with their reports to hand.

  3. 03

    Design

The proportions, setting and details are refined around the selected stone and wearer.

Drawings and renders are reviewed together until every line is right.

  4. 04

    Creation

Specialist craftsmen bring the commission to life.

Mounted, set and finished by hand by craftsmen Joshua has worked with for years.

  5. 05

    Presentation

The finished piece is privately presented to the client.

Checked against the brief and the stone report, then presented in person.
