The commission
Pink diamonds are among the rarest colours in the trade, and the setting has one job: to let the colour lead. The centre is held in rose gold claws, which warm the pink rather than bleaching it, while everything around it is white.
The surround is built from individually matched pear-shaped diamonds, angled like petals so the ring opens out from the centre. Beneath, the gallery is pierced so light reaches the pink stone from below.
